Digital spotting scopes (DSS) are designed with an integrated digital camera sensor. These types of spotters provide the best of both worlds…spotting scope and a high quality digital camera in one unit. Some are equipped with internal memory while the most higher mega pixel units require an external Secure Digital (SD) memory card to take pictures just like a conventional digital camera. Most feature an integrated TFT color screen for easy viewing and spotting. Images taken with the digital camera can be viewed on the spot or downloaded to a PC.
